Delta Expands Biometric Boarding to 15 New Airports

Delta Air Lines will begin testing biometric boarding at 15 additional airports this quarter, expanding its facial recognition program that has reduced boarding times by up to 9 minutes per flight.

How It Works

Passengers opt in through the Delta app. A quick face scan at the gate replaces traditional boarding pass checks. The system matches travelers against TSA-verified photos.

Privacy advocates note that Delta deletes biometric data within 24 hours of travel completion.
